Badrinath

Badrinath is One of the four abodes of Chardham and one of the Vishnu’s Dham and India’s Chardham. Badrinath Dham belongs to Lord Vishnu and in its form of Nara and Narayan. It is situated in the northern region (in Himalayan Region ) of Chamoli District of Uttarakhand, India.

Badrinath is situated at a Height of 3100 meters above sea level and highest temple of lord Vishnu which lies between Nara and Narayana Mountain range on the banks of Alaknanda River. It is very near to the last village of Indian Himalayan Region “MANA” which is close to India China Border.

The Best time to visit Badrinath Temple Gate opens in Summers in the month of April / May just after Akshaya Tritiya and closes in the month of October / Novomber after Diwali. After Diwali Heavy snowfall occurs at the place and the deity is shifted to his another temple in Joshimath named Narsingh Temple. The lord is then worshipped in Joshimath for the winter season.

Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun is 305 Kms. from Badrinath. One can take a pre book vehicle / Taxi from the Airport and proceed for Badrinath Temple. The temple is accessible by road and it takes 11-12 hrs to reach. If you want to travel by helicopter then you have to go to Sahastradhara Helipad in Dehradun. Helicopter will directly take you to Badrinath Helipad which is 01km far from the main Temple.

Rishikesh is 290 kms. From Badrinath. You can book a Taxi or Bus From Rishikesh to Badrinath. Rishikesh ISBT is just at the walking distance from Railway Station and it takes 10-11 hrs to reach Badrinath from Rishikesh by road.
